Recently the Chamber was approached by a group called the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA). Funded partially by the US Department of Agriculture, CTAA specializes in studying public transportation needs in rural areas. They will be coming to the Chamber in the near future, and we’d like to hear from anyone who has an opinion about bringing public transportation to the county. Where should the routes go? How often should the buses run? Would it be sustainable? CTAA has been directed by USDA to work especially on transportation needs to and from areas with an inland port, such as Front Royal. But they are also open to looking at options to and from Harrisonburg or Charlottesville, for example. We look forward to working with CTAA and finding out more specifics on if or how they can help the county. If you have any comments you’d like conveyed to this group, feel free to email Chamber President John Robbins at firstname.lastname@example.org .
